Advisory Board
The Wharton Interactive Media Initiative Advisory Board is made of its Corporate Partners and helps to guide the direction of the Initiative. The options for Corporate involvement are listed below.
The Advisory Board is currently under construction and will be announced, in its entirety, in the very near future.
Corporate Partner Involvement Opportunities
The Wharton Interactive Media Initiative (WIMI) will be seen as the authoritative thought leader for issues related to interactive media and its impact on broader business matters. Working with world-class faculty and top business leaders from around the globe, we will provide an objective and rigorous focus on data-driven problems of significant managerial interest.
The Wharton Interactive Media Initiative is unique in that it:
• Brings a passionate data-driven perspective to media businesses -- i.e., content distribution and information acquisition -- in a way that no other business school in the world can match.
• Distinguishes itself with a tight focus on the interaction between content provider and user, capitalizing on the wealth of individual-level data exploding at the crossroads of commerce, technology, and entertainment.
• Is dedicated to bringing world-class research rigor to better understand these complex interactions in order to drive new business strategies and tactics that will reshape the media landscape.
Partner Involvement
Among its many benefits, WIMI offers select partners:
• Development of company-specific (or industry-specific) research projects addressing real-world business problems suggested by our partners
• Ability to use WIMI “match-making” resources to identify (and facilitate working relationships with) the most appropriate researchers worldwide
• Early “members only” access to summaries of other WIMI-related research reports
• Use of Wharton Communications resources (such as Knowledge@Wharton) to call significant worldwide attention to work under the WIMI umbrella
• Priority attention for full-time hiring and summer/part-time internship programs for undergraduate and graduate students
• Opportunities to help develop cases and other teaching materials for newly emerging courses on interactive media (for degree programs and executive education)
• Field study projects
• Opportunities to spend a day as a “visiting scholar” to serve as guest speaker and have meetings with selected students/faculty on campus
• Seat on the WIMI Advisory Board to offer a voice about future directions for WIMI
