Students
The Wharton Interactive media Initiative offers several ways to become involved in the study and practice of emerging interactive media. By pairing with our Corporate Partners, MBA and undergraduate students have the chance to examine real-world problems, real time and with real impact.
MBA Research Teams: The Wharton Interactive Media Initiative offers MBAs a unique opportunity to work on projects generated by WIMI Corporate Partners. These teams will investigate business problems unique to interactive media. For more information on the MBA Research Teams, contact Team Director Guy Friedman
Independent study: Students have the opportunity to develop independent study projects that are address the changing issues associated with interactive media. This PDF will give more information on Independent Study or contact Steve Ennen at ennen@wharton.upenn.edu
Work for the Initiative: Students also have the opportunity to work for the Wharton Interactive Media Initiative performing a variety of tasks. For more information on opportunities, contact Steve Ennen at ennen@wharton.upenn.edu
Student internships: WIMI is an initiative not just for faculty and business professionals, but also for training and subsequent job opportunities for students. We work closely with our counterparts in Wharton/Penn Career Services (both at the MBA and undergraduate levels) who focus on the media sector. We also provide support and advice to the various student clubs that focus on issues related to interactive media. Our expectations are that, as our partnership with industry increases, a large part of the “value-add” we can bring is the placement of Wharton/Penn students into summer and full-time jobs that focus on interactive media.
Researchers
Academics have the opportunity to become part of the Wharton Interactive Media Initiative Research Network, participate in the study of merging media, collaborate with leading-edge companies and have access to real-time, relevant data.
